In the first game day of the Russian national team met with the founders of the rugby-7 – Scotland.
Driving in the lead after the first half 7:10 (one team attempts – on account of Ilya Babaev), our team could not hold the advantage, giving a final score of 15:28.
In the second game day team met with teams of South Africa and England.
In the first match of the South Africans were clearly stronger: 50: 0.
But in the final group stage match, our boys gave battle to the national team of England.
At the break after the first half the team went with the score 7-0 in favor of the Russian team.
The British tried to seize the initiative, and they did it at the beginning of the second half: three minutes before the final whistle, they already were in the lead in the match.
Demonstrating strong-willed qualities, at the last minute, our team will attempt Denis Simplikevicha the score, but he struck the ball does not reach the goal and the score still deadlocked 12:12.
In the final game day, in the quarterfinals of the Cup tournament average (Bowl) with our team lost to Argentina: 22: 0, and continued to fight for the Small Cup (Shield).
In the semi-finals of the Shield team beat the Russians in South Korea: 29: 7.
The final match for the Cup of Russia Small team played against one of its competitors for access to the Olympic Games – Team Canada.
In the main time rivals have failed to reveal the winner: the team went “head to head”, completing most of the time with a score of 14:14.
In extra time, did a great team work, our guys were able to “dodavit” Canadians 19:14, and became the owners of Shield!
Tomorrow our team will move to Singapore, where on April 16-17, will be held the eighth stage of the World Series in rugby-7.
