VVA Saracens reach World Club 7s Quarter Finals
World Club 7s, Twickenham 17&18/08/2013

VVA Saracens reached the quarter-finals of the World Club 7s at Twickenham before their campaign ended with a defeat to the ACT Brumbies in the knockout stages.

A fine opening day saw them club earn wins against Gloucester and Western Province and a draw against New York City earned a place in Day 2 of the competition on Sunday before the 22-17 extra-time defeat against the Australia province. The Brumbies went on to win the inaugural event.

The Moscow club, who earlier this week were announced as the latest team to have joined the Saracens Global Network, started Saturday with an impressive 19-12 victory over Premiership side Gloucester before following that up with another great result, this time beating Western Province 19-17.

Their final pool match of the day saw them draw 12-12 with New York City – a result that earned them a place in Sunday’s quarter-finals.
